Wirecard, MyOrder, to launch shared wallet for GRPPY

GRPPYThe Wirecard Group and MyOrder B.V. (a Rabobank Company) are to create a new FinTech solution by enabling GRPPY (Grouppay) and in doing so to create a shared wallet.

GRPPY is a Rabobank startup and is using the platform of MyOrder, which Wirecard provides the complete wallet infrastructure as being the technical service provider.

GRPPY, the ‘group wallet on your mobile’, is now available for download in all app stores in the Netherlands.

The GRPPY app helps people share expenses in a convenient mobile way. People can for example collect money and keep a shared balance for buying tickets for festivals or can share the tab for an evening out. All of this can now be done by creating a group, invite the group members to join and deposit money via iDEAL. One person within the group can spend the money on behalf of the members. Top-ups and spendings can be traced by all group members.

“MyOrder wants to make life easier for people through mobile innovations, often with a financial component. Splitting the bill is always a hassle in groups, a mobile group wallet really solves that problem.” says Gertjan Rösken, CTO at MyOrder.

Susanne Steidl, Executive Vice President Issuing at Wirecard added, “We are pleased that we can expand our cooperation with MyOrder in the field of FinTech. We want to support new and innovative companies to bring new mobile payment products to the market. As a partner we pave the road to more advanced and additional services for startups.”
